YouTube is testing a new personalized Subscription feed setting on mobile devices, according to the latest entry in itsfeatures and experiments blog. The feature is called Most Relevant, and enabling it (you should know, it’s optional) will prompt YouTube to show videos that you would most likely enjoy.
In other words, the Most Relevant option makes use of your YouTube video history to come up with personalized recommendations.
For now, this experiment is only available on mobile devices, and there is a chance it won’t make it to general availability.
However, if it makes it there, it could be an easy way to find YouTube videos that you’ve watched before but forgotten specific info about them, such as their titles because they will most likely appear in this new recommended feed.
Here’s what the entry says:
Testing an optional personalized Subscriptions Feed on mobile:We’re testing an optional “Most Relevant” view for your Subscriptions feed so that you can easily find the stuff you’re most likely to ❤️. If you’re in the experiment, simply select the chip or avatar that says “Most Relevant” and your feed will update to show you content from Subscriptions you watch most often or you’ve interacted with recently. Not interested? No problem! Your regular Subscriptions feed will still be there by default. This experiment is rolling out to a small percentage of viewers on mobile and expansion will be based on feedback.
Aside from this recommended feature that would allow users to find preferred YouTube videos faster, the platform has been recently caught sending Get Started panels to users, with it displaying the following message:Try searching to get started. Start watching videos to help us build a feed of videos you love.
