You’ll soon be able to translate inputs with Copilot in Edge for Android

Microsoft Edge’s live translator is one for the ages: incredibly intuitive, and easy to use, the feature is one of Edge’s best capabilities around, and the Redmond-based tech giant is sort of bringing it to Copilot, as well. At least, a version of it.

According to tech enthusiast,@Leopeva64, users will be able to translate their inputs with Copilot in Edge for Android, as it will be updated to support translation of inputs. In other words, Copilot will translate your inputs into your preferred language.

Microsoft is also enabling Copilot to translate inputs on Edge for desktop for some users, according to the tech enthusiast.

The translate button will be available in Copilot viahttps://copilot.microsoft.com/, but only if you access it through Microsoft Edge, of course. The button won’t show up in other browsers, for now.

You’ll be able to translate with Copilot in Edge Dev for Android, one of the insider channels of the browser, so it’s not available to the general public. However, all Edge users should be able to access the new capability in the next weeks.

And they definitely should: as we mentioned before, Edge’s translation capabilities are quite good, accurate, and easy to use. If you’ve never openeda PDF file in Edge, for the browser to translate, then you should, as it will translate the text you select in real-time.

In Copilot, the feature could be very useful in situations where you need to translate something very fast but you don’t have the means. For instance, when traveling, you can take a picture,upload it to Copilot, and let the AI model process and translate it for you.

You can have a quite useful travel companion that way, without wasting too much time typing out foreign words that might be hard to write.

Later edit: It seems that the capability will be available to Copilot in Windows, as well, although it is released in a controlled rollout, as captured by@Leopeva64.

So, you’ll be able to use it on mobile, and desktop devices.
