Did you know Copilot can write emails in Outlook? You’ll haveto enable the AI modelin the platform first, but then Copilot can draft possible emails.

However, if you still like the human touch but lack inspiration for the perfect follow-up email, then we have good news.

According tothe latest entryin the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, Outlook’s Copilot will soon be able to rewrite only parts of an email. You’ll have to highlight the part, and Copilot will do the rest.

You won’t have to worry about not getting your point across: you can give detailed suggestions to Copilot so that the AI tool can emulate your writing style to the best of its abilities. Microsoft teased this capability last November when the company releasedCopilot for Microsoft 365.

Copilot will take your Outlook email and re-write it to fit your tone and length criteria. Unfortunately, this enhancement will only be available to the new Outlook for Windows and the Web despiteCopilot being available in classic Outlook.

Here’s what the entry says:

Similar to Microsoft Word, highlight and rewrite capabilities will allow users to select specific sentences in their email draft and have them rewritten by Copilot. Using highlight and rewrite when drafting with Copilot in Outlook, users will be able to give detailed instructions on how to rewrite and be able to modify tone and length. This feature will be available in the new Outlook for Windows and web. #newoutlookforwindows

This is not just a time saver but will also encourage more people to use Copilot in Outlook. The AI model, which will be updatedto support GPT-4o, will also be quite effective. You won’t have to do much to make it understand what you’re trying to say, and it will also allow you to edit the email further.

But there is a high chance you won’t have to.
