August will be a busy month for Outlook users, as the Redmond-based tech giant will introduceCopilot to Outlook for mobile; however, another exciting feature is coming to the platform.

According to the latest entry in the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, the Redmond-based tech giant wants to enhance the platform with the ability to add an account to Outlook mobile using a QR code. This feature will be very handy for students or professionals who want to access their Microsoft 365 accounts on their mobile phones.

Instead of using regular usernames and passwords, they can scan the QR code and add their accounts.

Microsoft says this experience will roll out first to Outlook on the web in the entry. Once there, users will have to click on the Outlook mobile button, which will generate a QR code. By scanning the code, they will be able to add their account.

Microsoft is simplifying how users can add their Microsoft 365 for work or school accounts to Outlook mobile by allowing them to use a QR code instead of typing their username and password. This experience will roll out first to Outlook on the web. From there, users will see a new button in Help labeled “Outlook mobile.” Once they click it, a QR code will appear. Users can scan the QR code from within Outlook mobile following the steps for “Add account” to add their account without the need to type their usernames and passwords.

Undoubtedly, the feature will be practical to all those wanting to keep up with their emails on their mobile phones. There are no words to indicate whether the feature will be released gradually, but all Outlook users should be able to add their accounts using QR codes by the end of next month.
