Xbox has introduced a new way to install games, and users of the Xbox Insider program, particularly in the Alpha and Alpha Skip-Ahead rings, can now access it. The focus is on providing enhanced control and ease for users.
In the official changelog, Xbox says users will be provided a few options before installing games: there will be additional items or features you can download. You can select what to install. You can choose to customize your game installations if you want to save some room, reduce the time it takes to download, or not be fascinated by certain content.
We’ve added a new option that will appear before installing games with additional downloadable content or features. Choose what to install! Whether you want to save some space, reduce the time it takes to download, or you’re just not interested in the content, this new option provides more control over your game installations before you even start.
The latest insider builds also brought some updates to the Xbox Accessories app. It’s easier to turn off your connected devices now. Open the Xbox Accessories app if you have a device turned on and linked to your Xbox console. Go to the More options menu for this specific device and choose Turn off device from it. It’s a small but significant quality-of-life improvement that many will appreciate.
When it comes to fixes, Xbox has dealt with a bug that caused uninstalling various titles to create unexpected errors, and they’ve updated the console so local languages are correctly shown. They have also observed a recognized problem in seeing HDR screenshots inside the Captures application, which they are now examining.
Although there isn’t a specific date for when all Xbox Series X|S owners will have access to these features, Beta Ring members can begin exploring them with the newest update. Meanwhile, make sure to downloadthe latest Xbox 360 Blades background for Xbox Series X|S, as well as take a look at the final discounts from the Xbox 360 Store before it’s gone forever.
