Windows Recall is a newly announced feature that has sparked a lot of controversy since it allows artificial intelligence to track everything you do on the PC.
Some users wanted to avoid it altogether, but it seems to be available on all editions of Windows 11.
Windows Recall is everywhere, even on LTSC and Server editions
Microsoft has announced Windows Recall recentlyand itsaves everything you do in Windows 11allowing you to get back to it at any time.
Many are criticizing it due to possible privacy violations, despiteWindows Recall being harmless and running only locally.
Although the feature is available only on devices that have Snapdragon X Elite CPUs, it has made its way to Windows 11 LTSC as shown by Bob Pony on X.
If you’ve thought that Windows 11 LTSC is fully exempt from Microsoft’s AI push, well think again!Windows Recall is present in Windows 11 LTSC!It won’t run on most devices right now as it requires a device that meets the requirements for the Windows Recall feature.pic.twitter.com/KZNWyYwe6O
Despite being available on Windows 11 LTSC, it won’t run if the device doesn’t meet the hardware requirements.
To make matters worse, even Windows Server 2025 has Windows Recall since it’s available as part of the Windows Feature Experience Pack as Bob Pony confirms.
Surprisingly, Windows Server 2025 has Windows Recall (It’s part of the Windows Feature Experience Pack) but of course it won’t run due to the device not meeting the requirements for it.Windows Copilot is no where to be found in Windows Server 2025, except for Microsoft Edge!https://t.co/Sykzmae9f3pic.twitter.com/I2HBPrTBHM
However, just like with Windows 11 LTSC, it won’t work on unsupported hardware. This is a highly controversial feature, andmany are threatening to leave Windows 11 due to Windows Recall.
The controversy has resulted in aprobe by the UK data watchdog agency, and hopefully, they will confirm that Windows Recall isn’t violating user privacy in any way, so stay tuned for an update.
