Announced at the Microsoft Build 2024, earlier this week,Windows Recallhas been touted by the Redmond-based tech giant as aCopilot+ PCexclusive feature, and since these devices are only equipped with the Snapdragon Elite X, for now, it’s safe to assume that temporarily, Recall is a Snapdragon-exclusive feature.
However, tech enthusiasts do what tech enthusiasts always do, and they play out with things until they make it work. Such is the case of Windows Recall, which can already be enabled to work on AMD/Intel-based CPU PCs.
At least this is what tech enthusiast,Albacoreclaims, who has already managed to enable the feature on on current Arm64 hardware.

On X (formerly known as Twitter), the tech enthusiast posted a sample of how Windows Recall could work on AMD and Intel systems. The capability is quite laggy, and slow, but it gets the job done eventually.
As for enabling, we don’t know the technical parts behind it, so if you’re interested in enabling this feature, you’ll have to ask Albacore. You need to be enlisted in the Windows Insider Program, as well.
However, it is interesting: the exclusivity of the Windows Recall on Copilot+ PC has been a safe net for many of those Windows usersworried about its privacy issues. But now, it seems the capability can be easily enabled in regular PCs, as well, so this will only add more fireto the existing concerns.
It’s good to remember that the capability is optional, andcan be disabled entirely. For now, Windows Recall is not only unpopular because of privacy issues but also because the app is apparentlyeating a lot of spaceto keep the recordings locally. You’ll need at least 50 GB of free space in a device that has 256 GB. That’s very much.
