Microsoft released the latest insider patch to the Beta Channel, bringing huge fixes to some of Windows 11’s most annoying bugs.
But the Redmond-based tech giant has some other hidden surprises for Windows 11 users. According to Windows enthusiast,@PhantomOfEarth, Microsoft might allow Windows users to access local folders directly from the Start menu, through the All Apps grid view.
New work in progress Start > All apps grid view update, 22635.3566 edition: the new view now shows folders! And some minor visual tweaks.https://t.co/U0Jh3UJxn7pic.twitter.com/NR6AxE9COd
As you can see in the featured image above, at the W letter, Windows displays several Windows-related local folders such as Windows PowerShell, Windows Tools, Windows System, and so on.
The All Apps view is also recent, as Microsoft added itto the Beta channel, some weeks ago; it reorganizes the Windows 11’s Start Menu, bringing it closer to Windows 10’s theme, meaning it is more intuitive for users.
However, back then it lacked the introduction of the local Windows folders into the equation, and the spotter also admits that this addition is new.
So, will you be able to access local folders directly from Windows 11’s Start Menu? It might be possible, but I do wonder if the Start Menu will add all of them there: if it does, it would become an endless scrolling experience.
What do you think?
