Microsoft releasedWindows 11 Insider Preview Build 26100to the Canary and Dev channels earlier this week, and many believe this is also the base for the RTM 24H2 update. The RTM is widely considered the base for a new Windows version, and a version of the operating system that can support newer features.
In this case, build 26100 is seen as the base for Windows 11 24H2, or the 2024 Update, which will reportedly be full of AI capabilities. However, as of now, it seems that 26100 is quite unstable, and the build not only crashes by itself, after booting, but it also causes multiple issues with other applications.
The 24H2 RTM base has apparently broken the 64-bit .NET framework app debugging, according to Windows enthusiast,λlbacore.

Not only this, but it seems that build 26100 also crashes when running certain applications, such as VMware 3D, or third-party apps,such as StartAllBack.

Windows enthusiast,@PhantomOfEarth, experienced similar issues with the build: it apparently crashed right after accessing the Settings page.
“Fun” (more like random) fact: immediately after getting to the desktop in my 26100 VM, I opened the Settings app and it crashed 5 seconds later.
If Windows 11 RTM 24H2 is based on the build, then Microsoft has a lot of work to do to stabilize it, but nonetheless, it’s good that the build encounters so many issues with so many applications. After all, that’s why it’s an Insider build.
Down the road, the Redmond-based tech giant will release weekly builds that will ultimately improve it, until it is ready to be released to the general public, by the end of this year.
We predicted the2024 Updatecould come out in September/October and it will have many AI capabilities, some of which have already been released to insider builds, such as the Auto Super Resolution.
However, with the introduction of thenew Qualcomm chipsetsthis summer, Microsoft is surely moving towards AI PCs, and Windows 11 will follow the AI path, undoubtedly.
