It’s official: Thor: Love and Thunder is coming to Disney Plus soon. And, by soon, we mean very soon.

The latestMarvelCinematic Universe (MCU) movie will join its superhero film brethren onDisney Plusin early September. That’s later than we had expected, too – we originally predicted thatThor: Love and Thunderwould land on Disney’s streaming service in mid-August. Still, withShe-Hulk: Attorney at Lawrecently launching on Disney Plus – check out ourspoiler-free She-Hulk reviewwhile you’re here – it gives the MCU’s latest TV series a bit of breathing room before Thor 4 bolts on the streaming platform.

But you’re not here for Marvel’s latest mean, green machine, are you? You want to know when Thor: Love and Thunder – check out ourspoiler-free Thor 4 review, too – will make landfall on Disney Plus. Below, we’ll tell you exactly when Thor: Love and Thunder storms onto the streamer, as well as providing some additional context, such as how long its runtime is, to answer all of your needs ahead of time.

Here, then, is when Thor: Love and Thunder arrives on Disney Plus.

What date is Thor 4 being released on Disney Plus?

What date is Thor 4 being released on Disney Plus?

Thor: Love and Thunder will be released on Disney Plus onThursday, September 8. The announcement was made in a Disney press release, but Thor star Chris Hemsworth also took to social mediato confirm its official launch date. That’s a worldwide release, too. No matter where you live, then, as long as Disney Plus is available in your world region, you’ll be able to stream Thor 4 on that date.

As we mentioned, we had expected Thor’s latest solosuperhero movieto arrive in mid-August. That was based on when previous MCU films launched on the streaming service, which was usually 60-70 days –Doctor Strange 2, aside – after their release in theaters.

However, our prediction would have meant Thor 4 launching around the same time as She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Marvel and Disney wouldn’t want two MCU projects to be released simultaneously on Disney Plus, so it makes sense that Thor: Love and Thunder’s Disney Plus release has been held back.
