ChatGPT Plus will finally receive the new Voice Mode, transforming the experience of using this AI model.According to an X post by Sam Altman, the top leader of OpenAI, the alpha rollout for Voice Mode will start next week and be accessible to ChatGPT Plus subscribers. The CEO mentioned it briefly in a question to another thread regarding the new SearchGPT.

alpha rollout starts to plus subscribers next week!

If you have previously experienced using Voice Mode but faced waiting periods for responses, you are lucky. While the current model shows some lagging issues, with GPT-4o, this problem will likely be eliminated soon enough.

Picture yourself conversing with ChatGPT like before, but now it feels similar to talking with your friend over the phone. Sounds cool, right?

Back in May, OpenAI introduced its fresh GPT-4o model, which can comprehend audio inputs nearly as rapidly as a person. The model’s average response duration is 320 milliseconds, similar to a human’s reaction speed during conversation.

OpenAI planned to release Voice Mode by the end of June, but they decided to delay it for one more month. Meanwhile, the company previewed SearchGPT, which they are making as their own version for searching on the internet. It is not yet complete, but it says it will give quick and correct responses from trustworthy places.

So, what do you think? Are you ready to have a good talk with the new and improved ChatGPT?
