Microsoft Teams will be getting a bunch of new updates and policies in the next weeks: for instance, companies will request participants to a meetingto explicitly consentto be transcribed and recorded, while also preventing these participantsfrom downloadingthe transcript documents.
The Redmond-based tech giant also wants to enhance and improve productivity and collaboration by allowing individuals from outside the organizations to join chat groups and even use the apps in there for a nicer experience, which simultaneously, could become a security risk.
These new policies and updates are set to be released at the end of April, and continuing into May, but Microsoft will add another option to the platform, next month.
According to thelatest entry in the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, the Redmond-based tech giant will introduce a new experience to new Teams users who just joined an organization, and that is the option to select from a curated list of Teams channels.
The group owner or the manager can create that list of Teams channels according to the new user’s activities; this way, the manager can provide a meaningful and comprehensive onboarding process for the new employee, bringing them up to date with everything they need to know to do their job properly.
When added to a new team, users can see which channels the team owner recommended, and select to show only the channels that are relevant to them.
The new option of creating a list of curated Microsoft Teams channels will be added to the platform in May, and it’s coming to Microsoft Teams for the Web; it will also be available everywhere, in the world.
This could potentially change the way onboarding processes will be initiated, and it could provide a meaningful introduction to the organization’s infrastructure by solely using Microsoft Teams. Plus, it could also greatly reduce time and even interaction, something that new employees are often reticent towards.
