Zotac is entering the gaming handheld arena with its latest creation, the Zone, and it’s already causing quite a stir among gamers. The Zone, now up for pre-order, is a powerhouse with features designed to cater to gamers who demand precision, performance, and portability.

At the heart of the Zone lies an AMD Ryzen 7 8840U processor, boasting Zen 4 architecture and RDNA 3 graphics. This means you’re getting top-notch performance that can handle even the most demanding games. Coupled with 16 GB of LPDDR5X-7500 memory, it ensures smooth gameplay and quick load times. And with Windows 11 Home as its operating system, you’re getting a familiar interface with the bonus of gaming optimizations.

Thanks to its 2280 512GB M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0 x4 SSD, storage won’t be an issue. For those who need more, there’s an expandable storage option via a UHS-II microSD card reader. The display is just as impressive, featuring a 7″ Full HD AMOLED screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate and 800 nits brightness, ensuring vibrant colours and fluid motion.

But what sets the Zone apart are its controls. Triggers and analogue sticks use hall-effect sensors for unmatched precision, reducing the risk of drift over time. Plus, the adjustable triggers and radial dials around the analogue sticks allow on-the-fly adjustments without pausing your game. And for those who prefer a mouse and keyboard setup, twin trackpads offer an alternative way to play.

Connectivity is also top-notch, with Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth options and a front-facing camera and microphone for streaming or chatting with friends. Security is also handled with a fingerprint reader integrated into the power button.
