Microsoft released the new Sticky Notes app for all users a while ago, and the app received many enhancements, new features, and a new design altogether. However, if it’s not broken, don’t fix it. The new Sticky Notes was not received with much enthusiasm from users.
The app is still in preview mode, which can be a little confusing. Why would Microsoft make an unfinished product available to users, particularly if it’s intended to substitute for something as basic as Sticky Notes?
Also, this new app is attached to OneNote. It doesn’t matter if you like it or not; if you have OneNote, then your devicewill automatically receive these recent Sticky Notes. If you are not interested in it, bad news. The only way out of this is to remove OneNote or even the complete Office package.
But the twist is that even with some new shiny features and a fancy UI, the refreshed Sticky Notes app is a slowpoke. Yeah, it’s true. Sticky Notes’ original purpose was to be fast and light, but this upgrade appears to have not received that message, accordingto some Reddit users.
And if that wasn’t enough, there are rumors on Reddit aboutusers experiencing note lossafter upgrading. However, fortunately,it appears to be rare.
However, it’s not entirely hopeless. The old Sticky Notes application is still on the Microsoft Store for people who like the traditional experience. It runs quicker, is easier to use, and does exactly what you expect from a sticky note app.
You can also synchronize your notes on different devices—that is always a plus point. And for those who like things in their original form, the “old, old” Sticky Notes, a simple widget-like app, can be brought back to life.
What do you think about the new Sticky Notes? Would you try the new version or stick to the old one?
