Surface Pro 8 justreceived a major firmware update. The eighth generation of Surface Pro is an Intel-based Windows tablet known for being flexible and strong; this update improved its overall performance.

Connectivity has been improved. If you have had troubles with Wi-Fi or Bluetooth not functioning as desired, particularly when your device is in sleep mode, this change will help to overcome those problems.

The Surface Thunderbolt 4 Dock also received an enhancement. The update enhances interoperability, solving the problems that prevented audio devices from being recognized by the system.

Now, let’s move on to the Surface Slim Pen’s update. Its new firmware update includes auto-pairing and improved auto-binding to create a smoother workflow.

There is also good news for those who worry about security: the update improves device security, especially by updating certificate processes so that they offer stronger protection and simpler authentication.

On the fixing side, this update fixes problems with camera performance triggered by low memory or insufficient storage, guaranteeing you can keep taking pictures smoothly.

Forthose who like technical details, the update can be applied to Surface Pro 8 devices running on Windows 10 October 2022 Update, Version 22H2 or higher. If you are curious about its size, it is a big one, with 742 MB for manual installations. But no need to fret—updating is easy regardless of whether it is done through Windows Update or by visiting theSurface Support website directly.

Even thoughthe Surface Pro 8 is two generations behind, it will continue to receive support for many years. Microsoft has agreed to a six-year lifecycle for this device, meaning they promise assistance until October 5th, 2027.
