The Surface Pro X SQ2 has received a firmware update focusing on improving user experience. This particular update, made for SQ2 models running Windows 11 version 22H2 or newer, provides full support for the Surface Pro Flex Keyboard and Surface Slim Pen stylus.

The update goes further than simply improving the keyboard and stylus. It also deals with data collection mandates and adjusts the consent for data transmission experience, offering users a more transparent and reliable interaction on their devices. But an update wouldn’t be complete without various technical advancements. The firmware incorporates a range of fresh drivers, such as Surface Hot Plug and Surface System Telemetry Driver. This guarantees that each element within the Surface Pro X SQ2 operates uniformly and effectively.

If you’re interested in the details, the update includes drivers for system devices, human interface devices, and even firmware updates for the Surface Type Cover and the Surface G7 Touchpad.

However, it’s worth mentioning that there is a known error with the Eye Contact characteristic. The capability doesn’t work correctly, and there is a temporary solution, which involves repeatedly turning it off within settings. But Microsoft is working to fix this in an upcoming update.

The backing for SQ2-based Surface Pro X goes up until August 10, 2025. You can read moreabout it here.
