Hardware differences

As you can see, the Snapdragon X Plus X1P-64-100 is almost identical to the Snapdragon X Elite X1E-78-100, and the only difference is that the Elite model has 12 cores instead of 10.

To see how it compares to other models of the Elite series, we have a great guide on differentSnapdragon X Elite versions, so we encourage you to visit it.

Performance results

According to CPUBenchmark, the two processors offer similar performance with Snapdragon X Elite X1E-78-100 having 4.3% better multithread results.

Surprisingly, X Plus came on top for single-thread results with 1.3% better results.

Geekbench results paint a slightly different picture, and in all cases, Elite model X1E-78-100 comes on top in both single-core and multi-core results.

While the difference in single-core performance isn’t that big, it’s noticeable when it comes to multi-core performance.

According to Cinebench 2024 results, X Elite outperforms X Plus for multi-core results, while X Plus just barely outperforms X Elite in single-core results.

As for multimedia performance, both CPUs use the same iGPU, so you can expect roughly the same benchmark results. Do keep in mind that the CPU can be a bottleneck in real-life situations, especially when gaming.

Conclusion

Despite sharing almost all hardware specs, the two extra cores that the X Elite model has make the difference in performance and that is noticeable during multi-core results.

Keep in mind that we compared the Snapdragon X Plus with the entry-level X Elite model since other models outshine it in every regard. To learn about the performance of other models, don’t miss out on theSnapdragon X Elite comparisonguide.
