Microsoft taunted 2024 as the year of the AI PC but there are still a lot ofWindows 7 users outthere. Moreover,Windows 11’s market share droppedright in the middle of Microsoft’s AI push.
However,Windows Centralpoints to undisclosed industry sources saying that Windows 11 version 24H2 will ship on the new Arm PCs boosting the new Snapdragon X Elite SoCs who just got animpressive boost in the latest benchmarks.
Their sources also disclosed that the finalized Windows 11 24H2 (RTM) build will be sent to manufacturers in early April for OEM installation on their devices.
The new ARM laptops will not have all the AI features
But that doesn’t mean that Windows 11 will have all the advertised features. Microsoft also promised to reveal additional Windows AI features during aMay 20 dedicated event. For instance, probably the RTM build installed on the ARM laptops won’t have the much awaited AI Explorer.
However, there will still be some time left until the 24H2 stable release because Microsoft plans tolaunch it in two waves. The first wave starts in June, and the second wave is expected in September.
Basically, if the rumors are true, the ARM laptops would have limited AI features who will be updated within the September second wave.
Major manufacturers like Dell, HP, Lenovo and others also plan to launch Arm hardware this summer, together with Windows 11 24H2. However, not all of them will feature Qualcomm’s X Elite SoC which is considered the most powerful Arm chip right now.
