If you’ve come back to using Skype (especially afterlast week’s big news about getting rid of all the adson the platform) but found yourself receiving notifications from blocked Skype groups, you should not worry: Microsoft has acknowledged the issue and is working on a fix.
In a blog post, the Redmond-based tech giant says all Skype users are affected, and you might receive ghost notifications from unwanted groups, even after these groups have been blocked.
The company says a permanent solution is coming, but until then, there are a few workarounds that you should try. And it’s also easy.
Instead of blocking the group, leave the group from your chat list.
Leave the Group Instead of Blocking: To prevent receiving unwanted notifications from such groups, we recommend leaving the group from your chat list.
Open Skype, go to the chat list and select the group you want to block. Right-click the group, and then select Leave. Confirm your action, and you’re done. You should no longer receive ghost notifications from it.
Microsoft hasn’t given a definite date for fixing the issue, but it will most likely be fixed with the next update.
