Microsoft is finally updating Skype to allow users to log in with different accounts and switch between them with just a tap. The new enhancements were added with the release of the Skype Insider build 812, and according to the official changelog, both Android and iOS Skype users have access to it.

The best thing? Switching between your accounts won’t make you lose context or even miss notifications. You’ll still be able to see notifications across all your accounts, regardless of which account received them.

Unified Experience: Enjoy a smooth transition between accounts without losing context or missing notifications. This update ensures you stay connected with a consistent, unified interface.

Skype says the new enhancement will allow users to switch between accounts very easily, without having to log in repeatedly. Think about navigating different Instagram accounts. Well, this is very similar. The current account will appear at the top of the page, and users can easily add or remove other accounts from there, as well.

Simplified Account Management: Effortlessly switch between multiple accounts directly from the Me Control menu. No more signing out and signing in repeatedly.

Enhanced Flexibility: The account selection window now displays the currently logged-in account at the top, separated from other available accounts. Easily add new accounts or remove existing ones.

The new enhancements will be gradually rolled out to users with Skype 812, so if you haven’t gotten them yet, check it back in a few days.

The platform has been greatly updated to suit mobile users, lately, which leads us to believe Microsoft wants to turn Skype into a dominant mobile communication app in the market, and if it continues this way, then it might just manage that.

A few months ago, Skype started to supportChannels, a feature very similar to Telegram and WhatsApp Channels and Communities, where users can subscribe to, and receive specific information about certain topics. The platform also made significant changes toits camera settings, allowing users to quickly open it, and customize it for video calls.
