As you might already know, Microsoft announced the new Copilot + PC devices (aka the AI PCs we’ve been hearing about all year). These new laptops are incredibly fast, and use a lot of AI everywhere to allow users to get work done easily and quickly. Plus, their battery life is quite impressive.

The new devices will use CPU, GPU, and NPU to streamline productivity, and there will be certain apps that will work best only for them. With this in mind, Qualcomm will be releasingthe new Snapdragon Dev Kit for Windowsto allow users to build such apps specifically for Copilot + PC devices.

The Snapdragon Dev Kit for Windows was officially announced at the Microsoft Build 2024 event, with the Redmond-based tech giant stating:

Featuring the NPU that powers the Copilot+ PCs, the Snapdragon Dev Kit for Windows has a form factor that is easily stackable and is designed specifically to be a developer’s everyday dev box, providing the maximum power and flexibility developers need. It is powered by a 3.8 GHz 12 Core Oryon CPU with dual core boost up to 4.4GHz, comes with 32 GB LPDDR5x memory, 512GB M2 storage, 80 Watt system architecture, support for up to 3 concurrent external displays and uses 20% ocean bound plastic.

However, the Snapdragon Dev Kit for Windows won’t be cheap. You’ll have to put $899 on the table, on June 18th, when Qualcomm will release. It will sport some impressive specs, though, including:

If you’re interested in aCopilot + PC device, just know you have plenty of options to choose from. Samsung, Lenovo, Acer, Asus, and even HP (which resurrected a 22 years old laptop series especially for AI) have announced such devices. However, you’ll have to spend some money: the cheapest one starts at $999.
