Hands down, it is one of the best titles from the Prince of Persia franchise and one of the best Metroidvania video games to be released recently. Prince of Persia: The Last Crown is now the latest game available for free on the Xbox Store.

Released earlier this year, the game combines action-adventure elements with exploration and open-world elements in a 2.5-D side-scrolling video game where you control Sargon, which can jump, slide, and air dash between platforms, all while battling enemies with his two swords.

Prince of Persia: The Last Crown might fly under the radar, but it’s one of this year’s highlights. From its vibrant atmosphere to the fun gameplay and rich story, the game is definitely worth your time.

Plus, its Metroidvania elements allow you to overcome obstacles when ready instead of leaving them behind for good. So, if you’re a completionist (sometimes that I can relate to, as well), you’ll have hidden places to discover, puzzles to solve, and a lot of secret treasures to find.
