During a recent inside all-hands meeting, the people at OpenAI revealed their fresh roadmap toward Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), andaccording to the latest reports, they have planned five stages for it.

They introduced a classification system with five levels to monitor their advancement, from chatbots to artificial intelligence that manages an entire organization.

At present, we are comfortably situated in Level 1 but approaching Level 2, where AI will showcase problem-solving talents similar to humans. Picture an AI with the intelligence of a person who holds a doctor’s degree.

They demonstrated their GPT-4 model, which implied features similar to human reasoning. This race is not only for OpenAI; Google’s DeepMind is also moving ahead with its AGI framework.

If you remember, the idea of reaching AGI is not entirely new; the tech world sayshumanity may reach it this decade, sooner or later. However, this was last year, when AI was the perfect technology for collaborations and partnerships. Unfortunately, it seems thatMicrosoft and OpenAI are currently struggling.

The idea of AGI, though, is a significant matter, for it brings in numerous opportunities and difficulties. How can we guarantee that these strong instruments are used for good rather than causing harm? Also, how do we manage the rate of advancement?

OpenAI’s method is bold and clear. It aims to ensure investors and the public are informed. This might establish a fresh standard in the AI community, encouraging an atmosphere of honesty and teamwork.

Ultimately, working on a project as transformative as AGI isn’t only about technology. It is about how it affects society, ethics, and our future. What do you think? Are we prepared for the upcoming levels of AI, or are there other aspects still needing to be considered?
