If you’re a developer, you’ve most likely used Stack Overflow when researching a certain problem.
In the era of AI, more and more developers tend to rely on ChatGPT and other tools, and this is why OpenAI and Stack Overflow decided to form a partnership.
OpenAI and Stack Overflow collaboration aims to improve AI for developers
OpenAI and Stack Overflow have just announced their partnership that should help OpenAI improve its services with a better understanding of programming questions.
AsMSPowerUser writes, this partnership comes as a surprise since Stack Overflow banned ChatGPT due to the possibility of low-quality responses.
AI has changed the development process, and fewer developers rely on Stack Overflow for answers, so over the years the service has lost a lot of traffic and users.
According toStack Overflow’s post, OpenAI will be able to access OverflowAPI and provide users with accurate data that has been validated by millions of developers who have contributed to Stack Overflow over the years.
Regarding the partnership, Prashanth Chandrasekar, CEO of Stack Overflow, said the following:
Through this industry-leading partnership with OpenAI, we strive to redefine the developer experience, fostering efficiency and collaboration through the power of community, best-in-class data, and AI experiences.
Our goal with OverflowAPI, and our work to advance the era of socially responsible AI, is to set new standards with vetted, trusted, and accurate data that will be the foundation on which technology solutions are built and delivered to our user.
This is exciting news for all developers and we expect to see the first set of integrations and new features in the first half of 2024.
In other news,OpenAI is getting sued over copyright infringement, but that won’t affect future projects in any way.
Speaking of plans,OpenAI’s search engine is ready, and it’s launching soon, so stay tuned for more news.
