OneDrive will be updated to display an item’s delete confirmation every time users are about to delete shared items. According to the latest entry in the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, the Redmond-based tech giant will be rolling out the new experience this month, and it won’t replace the existing mass delete experience.
Microsoft also says the new confirmations will only happen when files are deleted from File Explorer and when the user runs OneDrive without pausing.
Here’s whatthe entry says:
We are shipping an items delete confirmation that will trigger when the user is about to delete shared items. This UI format will also replace the existing mass delete experience. These confirmations will occur when files are deleted from File Explorer when the user is running OneDrive and not paused.
This new capability is crucial because it can prevent accidental removal of essential files in Shared Documents. You’ll have to follow another step before removing them, which will prevent you from causing any accidents when managing such files.
In other news, OneDrive has been ratedTeen on the ESRB Code, which is a bit weird, considering the rating system is only for video games.
