The Microsoft Build 2024 event is slowly approaching, and whilewe already told youwhat to expect (lots of AI, obviously), the Redmond-based tech giant has revealed almost all the sessions taking place at the conference, and some of them are quite exciting.

Microsoft will unveilnew Windows AI features, as well, asnew C# 13 capabilities. The Redmond-based tech giant will also presentthe new Advanced Pastewith Local AI in PowerToys, with Clint Rutkasshowcasing his excitementfor the new feature on X (formerly known as Twitter).

PowerToys will introduce a new feature at Build.@craigaloewenand@metulevwill be chatting about the what it does and the thought process behind itIt is pretty neat and would love the community feedback on it. ?

Windows enthusiasts everywhere will also finally get to see theNext Generation of Windows on Arm, which is going to be NPU-based. However, one of the most useful new capabilities is the update of the Windows Copilot to support AI plugin development.

In a session calledBuild richer experiences with Copilot in Windows, Microsoft will show Windows users how to personalize their Windows experience by developing AI plugins.

In this breakout session we will take a deep dive into how you can extend Copilot with your Windows native app. It’s a great session to complement the hands-on lab on building a Copilot plugin for your Windows app. At the end of this session you’ll understand the components that make a plugin, how Copilot invokes actions defined by your app and how to design a plugin that is relevant and valuable to your users.

While we don’t know what the actual process of building an AI plugin implies, it’s not hard to guess. Not so long ago, Microsoft announcedthe Copilot GPT Builder, a platform that allows Windows users to build their own Copilot without coding knowledge.

The Copilot can be customized with prompts, and users can choose to publish it or keep it for themselves. The AI plugin builder will most likely follow the same process. This way, all Windows users, including those who don’t have technical backgrounds, can build their own AI plugins.
