Microsoft will finally allow Viva Engage admins to moderate content and engagement on the Viva platform, by muting users and even removing specific posts from them.
According tothe latest entryin the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, admins can now build a better and safer Viva space for everyone, by controlling the platform’s home feed, storylines feeds, and email digests.
The Redmond-based tech giant says this new option, which is scheduled to be released in July 2024, will help admins moderate the Viva Engage platform to follow the organization’s policies.
With this feature, Engage admins can remove specific users’ posts from the Engage home feed, storylines feed, and all email digests. Selected users are not notified about this change. Engage admins may find this feature helps to moderate the visibility of content in the network. Mute user for network is part of a suite of moderation features in Engage, including view-only mode, close conversations, and more.
Admins will be able to mute users in Microsoft Viva across all platforms, whether we’re talking about desktop and Android devices, or iOS devices. The new feature will also be present in the web version of the platform.
This is more than welcomed as it will allow organizations to build a safer social media network for all of its employees, while effectively muting, deleting, and limiting all forms of abuse on the network.
As part of the Microsoft 365 Suite, Viva Engage is a social media platform aimed at professionals, and it can be tailored to fit each company. In other words, the platform can be a great way for employees to share content, bond with each other, and get to know each other more.
The Redmond-based tech giant has been putting a lot of effort into making it more attractive to users, including adding the ability to create long-form articles withthe new long-form formattingcapability released earlier this year.
