Microsoft Viva has been updated to support some quite useful features lately. For instance, back in 2023, with the hype of AI, the platform was enhanced witha brand-new AI summarization capabilitythat helps users understand certain engagement trends within their organization much better.
The Viva Engage network within the platform has also seensome useful updates, with Microsoft adding long-form formatting to it, effectively allowing users to create, edit, and publish long forms of content.
But speaking of content, it seems that Microsoft will expand Viva by allowing managers to add linked content, such as YouTube or Vimeo videos, to their learning course within the platform.
The linked content comes in the form of links that will direct users to content stored internally within the organization’s services like SharePoint and Stream, or to content found online through platforms like YouTube, Vimeo, and other sources.
The new feature is set for a July 2024 release to Desktop and Web users, according to the latest entry in the Microsoft 365 Roadmap.
Here’s whatit says:
Global administrators/knowledge administrators can now add links to content sets in Viva Learning. These links can direct users to content stored internally with services like SharePoint and Stream or found online through YouTube, Vimeo, and other sources. The capability to add links to content allows admins to add content found online to featured sets, in addition to formal learning courses from connected providers.
This is quite important for organizations, as it allows managers to create and customize their courses with various internal and external sources.
In cases where internal sources don’t always come up with sufficient information on how to complete certain tasks, managers can use YouTube or Vimeo to search for more videos on the said topic.
It not only saves time and enhances productivity, but it also provides a comprehensive approach to an issue, by allowing you to add as many voices and sources of information as possible.
