Launching your entire digital workspace with a single click will soon become a reality thanks to a new capability called PowerToys Workspaces. Microsoft developers have been working on it, and the new utility is set to revolutionize how we interact with our computers, especially for those who juggle multiple applications throughout our workday.

What can you do with PowerToys Workspaces? You can group applications, arrange them like on your screen, and even add specific commands or arguments. Then, with a single click, you can launch this custom setup.

Imagine having Visual Studio, Terminal, and Microsoft Edge all pop up in their designated spots on your screen, ready for you to dive back into work. It’s like having a personal assistant for your computer, ensuring everything is where you left it.

However, according tothe Windows Dev Chat presentation, which took place earlier this week, PowerToys Workspaces isn’t just about launching apps. It lets you capture existing layouts, even with apps on different monitors or minimized applications. You can specify window sizes, states, and more. This level of customization and efficiency promises to make our digital lives a whole lot easier.

You might wonder, “When can I get it?” There’s no specific release date yet, but PowerToys tends to update pretty regularly, so it’s probably safe to say we won’t haveto wait too long. Of course, this update will also improve the existing suite of PowerToys utilities.

Demo’ed today in the Windows Developer Chat, PowerToys Workspaces coming in 0.84. (slides called it App Layouts). Create workspaces for each of your workflows and with a single click, get back to being productive with everything back to how you configured it.

PowerToys Workspaces is set to be a game-changer. It’s not just for developers; anyone looking to streamline their digital workflow will find this tool invaluable. So, keep your eyes peeled for the PowerToys 0.84 update. It will make those repetitive tasks a breeze, giving you more time to focus on what truly matters.

Meanwhile,PowerToys 0.83, which is one of the biggest updates in a while, is available to download and install.
