Microsoft Teams is set to introduce Administrative Units for Teams Administration, which could greatly reduce admins’ workload. According tothe latest entryin the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, the new capability will be added to Teams starting in August 2024.
The Administrative Units in Microsoft Teams will be available on Desktop, iOS, Mac, and Android devices, allowing admins to make important organizational changes from anywhere. With Administrative Units in Teams, admins can delegate other admin roles or administration to a specific subset of users in their organization.
The good thing is that you can choose between a series of criteria, such as department, location, or business unit.
According to Microsoft, admins can create detailed management scenarios for their Teams environment. They can also assign the following roles, which can be used to manage only the users, groups, or devices within their Administrative Units.
We are excited to announce the availability of administrative units (AUs) for Teams administration. AUs are a way to delegate admin roles and administration to a subset of users in your organization based on attributes such as department, location, or business unit. With AUs, you can create more granular and flexible management scenarios for your Teams environment. You can assign the following roles, allowing them to manage only the users, groups, and devices within their AU: Teams Administrator.
The Redmond-based company has been announcing dozens of features intended for Teams admin, with the most recent one allowing themto control and manage hundreds of Teams Rooms simultaneously.
Regarding Teams Rooms, Microsoft will also update Teams to support multiple camera views for hybrid meetings, making remote participants feel as if they’re physically present in the meeting room.
