Webinar organizers on Microsoft Teams will soon be able to block the sending of attendee emails from the platform during these events, according to the latest entry in theMicrosoft 365 Roadmap.
This feature allows the organizers of webinars to block the sending of attendee emails from Microsoft Teams.
The new ability will be available in Microsoft Teams for desktop and Mac devices, starting May 2024, and it will make webinars less overwhelming for everybody. Why? Because it gives webinar organizers more control over the communication process of the event.
Usually, when a webinar is organized, there are often automated emails sent to attendees. These can include invitations, reminders, updates, and follow-up messages. However, these emails can become quite overwhelming to participants, possibly discouraging them from attending any other future webinars.
In situations where the organizer doesn’t want these emails to be sent out, they will soon have the possibility to do so, by blocking them entirely and choosing a different way to communicate with attendees.
Organizers will have the option to stop the sending of these emails by enabling the new feature, however, they will have to find other means to get the info out, if they want to, so that attendees can be informed.
However, the process of doing so can become more organic, and it can lead to increased engagement, so, as you can see, the feature has its perks, aside from the obvious flexibility.
Speaking of webinars, Microsoft Teams will introducea private chat channelfor organizers and presenters that will allow them to privately talk to each other without the attendees knowing. The feature is set to be released in June, and it could make a webinar flow better, without interruptions.
The new private chat channel will be available on desktop, and Mac platforms, meaning organizers and presenters accessing Teams from different devices, such as Windows or Mac devices, will be able to communicate in the same private channel.
