Microsoft raised the character limit on Edge Copilot to 8000, allowing users to give it more complex inputs

It seems the Redmond-based tech giant raised the character limit on Edge Copilot to 8000 for the More Creative, and More Precise modes, and to 4000 for the More Balanced mode., according to tech enthusiast@Leopeva64.

Previously, in the More Creative, and More Precise modes the limit was 4000 characters, while the Balanced mode was limited to 2000 characters.

The raise is currently rolling out gradually to Edge Canary users, and you might get it in the next few days if you haven’t gotten it already (for instance, we haven’t).

This would allow users for a more complex input. For instance, this is quite useful when copying/pasting large passages of text into Copilot’s text box. With double the amount of characters, users won’t have to break those passages into parts, and potentially lose all the context, as they can now upload all the passages without worrying Copilot won’t be able to explain them properly.

On the same page, Copilot will also allow users to delete their entirechat history at once, without having to delete each entry. This allows for better management, and it’s coming to Copilot on Edge, and Copilot on Windows, as well. One of the best things about the chat history deletion is that it can be done quite easily, with just 3 clicks.

And speaking of characters, Copilot on Edge is also set to introducethe new Notebook capability, which has an impressive limit of 18,000 characters that can be used to visualize complex answers.

Until now, Notebook has been available on the Copilot website and other platforms, but not directly within Microsoft Edge when using Copilot. However, Microsoft has brought it to Edge. By default, Notebook is not available in the release version.
