Microsoft will be updating the Preview portal with new enhancements that will turn the device onboarding process into a simpler, and safer process all around.
Accordingto the latest entryin the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, the Redmond-based tech giant will allow IT managers and admins to look up devices by searching their IP address, or by using a new Valid user filter to only display certain devices.
Additionally. there will be new properties to choose from when exporting reports in Microsoft Purview, including several new labels such as valid user, first onboarded date, MDATP device ID, Defender engine version, Defender Mocamp version, Endpoint DLP status, last policy sync time, and Advanced Classification bandwidth usage exceeded.
Here’s what the entry says:
This adds new enhancements to the device onboarding page, including these: search by IP address to look up devices, filter using the new “Valid user” filter, use a refined device list to only include devices that can be DLP supported (exclude Android devices from showing in the device onboarding list), and use new properties in the export report (valid user, first onboarded date, MDATP device ID, Defender engine version, Defender Mocamp version, Endpoint DLP status, last policy sync time, and Advanced Classification bandwidth usage exceeded).
The new enhancements will create a safer environment, and it will allow admins to have a better view at the organization’s infrastructure. Given how targeted Microsoft-based environments are, the new policies will provide all the necessary information to deal with suspicious devices.
Speaking of safer environments, Microsoft Purview will soon introduce a portal that allows managers to have everything they need ina single unified experience.
The new portal will allow IT admins, managers, and cybersecurity experts to access data security, data governance, and risk and compliance solutions for all data, no matter where this data is located. They can also access other settings, such as global search, recommendations, and roles and permissions management, everything in a single portal.
It will reach general availability in July 2024. Microsoft Purview’s new device onboarding enhancements will arrive in the same month, although the Redmond-based tech giant will preview them first, in June 2024.
