Accordingto the official blog post, Microsoft’s work on improving OneNote for Windows with various digital ink characteristics has led to a new interactive ink tutorial feature to provide a better understanding and enjoyable experience using these improvements.

Just picture this: you start OneNote on your Windows device, and there’s a message about a fresh ink tutorial. If you want to know more (and who wouldn’t?), all it takes is clicking “Try it” to enter a scenario where ink encounters innovation.

This tutorial is not a regular one; it’s an interactive trip planned for you to learn about digital ink in OneNote. The tutorial uses a show-and-tell method, including videos and practical tasks that will improve your note-taking ability.

Now, I can hear your thoughts. What if you don’t own a stylus? Microsoft has considered this problem too. When the tutorial’s interactive part is in tune with a stylus, you can still participate even if you don’t have one.

You are able to engage with the non-interactive videos that explain features. However, if a stylus exists, the touchpad or mouse will be less involved during lesson time.

One hiccup to note: the tutorials won’t work withWindows N versionsbecause they lack the necessary multimedia support. But there is a workaround. Downloading and installing the Windows Media Feature Pack will help you get back on track.

For eager people who want to try this, the fresh tutorials are ready for those using Microsoft 365 Insiders running Version 2405 (Build 17628.20006). It is similar to having your private teacher help you understand digital ink in OneNote; this makes capturing your ideas, drawings and notes simpler and more pleasant.
