WithAI emerging as the ultimate tool for cyberattacks, the technological marvel is ironically finding increased applications in combatting the problem.

In a bid to develop advanced solutions that will protect critical infrastructure from AI-powered attacks, theDefense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA)is organizing theAI Cyber Challenge (AIxCC), and Microsoft has committed to offering its latest AI models in Microsoft Azure to all the participants.

William Chappellfrom Microsoft, in anofficial blog post, confirmed that the participants can leverage Azure’s AI capabilities to build their entire system from scratch or fine-tune it using the wide array of language models.Microsoft recently addedMistral Smallto itsportfolio of language models.

Besides, Microsoft will offer teams up to$150,000worth of Azure credits, with access to Auzre and OpenAI, and Microsoft business products worth$200,000, including GitHub Enterprise.

TheAI Cyber Challenge (AIxCC)organized by DARPA, spanning over two years, will witness experts and enthusiasts in AI and cybersecurity develop cutting-edge solutions to augment the existing security infrastructure and prevent critical and national infrastructure from being compromised.

Microsoft itself promotes theuse of AI in combating cyberattacksand has introduced solutions likeSpotlightingto minimize the success rate of attacks.
