In the fast-changing world of digital collaboration, Microsoft is adding a new feature to its Loop collaboration app that’s sure to stir the pot. Picture yourself in a lively organization where sharing ideas and tasks with external partners or freelancers is difficult. Now, Microsoft Loop introduces guest sharing, making teamwork more open and without boundaries.
In the past, when working with Microsoft Loop, you could only share pages, workspaces, and components within your organization. Microsoft has realized this and introduced a feature that allows users to share Loop content with guests. This is a game-changer for organizations that thrive on collaboration and innovation.
Users in organizations that don’t use sensitivity labels can now share pages and components with any email address as long as it aligns with administrator policy. Even more, Microsoft is planning to expand guest sharing to you later this year when they make sensitivity label functionality for Loop workspaces generally available.
According to the official blog post, sharing a Loop page or workspace with someone outside your organization is quite simple. You’ll just need to click on the Share button, choose either the Page or Workspace option, and then type in their email address.
Once you set the settings, you can share the Loop page through Teams, Outlook, or other apps that support Loop. But, one thing to note: before you can share a Loop workspace with guest users, they need access to a shared Loop page. There might be some waiting time of about an hour or two before the workspace becomes shareable.
This new feature is coming to those who have Microsoft 365 Enterprise, EDU, or SMB licenses.
