IT managers will have an easier job starting next year, in February, when Microsoft plans to enhance device inventory for Windows devices within Intune.
Accordingto the latest entry in the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, the Redmond-based tech giant will change the Intune platform, providing it with even more context and details regarding the system’s Windows devices.
What does this mean for IT managers? They will gain more inventory information, which they can manage according to their tasks and plans.
Gain more inventory information about your Windows devices. Choose which device properties you want to collect from which device and then view that information for your devices.
Ultimately, this enhancement will allow IT managers to obtain information about devices that need to be updated or gain even more context when a cyberattack occurs, for example.
However, this new feature will be added to Microsoft Intune only in February 2025, so it will take some time to arrive. Speaking of Intune, Microsoft recently enhanced the platform to allow managersa new method to roll out Windows feature updates.
