Are you ready for a new way of working with computers? Microsoft has just teased the new Copilot + PC devices, and they’re 58% faster than MacBook Air M3.

At the Microsoft Event 2024, the Redmond-based tech giant said AMD, Intel, Qualcomm, Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Samsung, are all in for these new devices, with the first of Copilot + PC devices coming out on June 18th. They’re quite affordable too, starting at $999.

So what are Copilot + PC devices?

Well, according tothe official announcement,Copilot+ PCs are the fastest, most intelligent Windows PCs ever built.

Here’s what you should know: they’re capable of 40+ TOPS (trillion operations per second). Copilot on these devices will be enhanced withthe new GPT-4o, and it will be integrated with Windows 11’s File Explorer, Notifications, Edge, Settings, and more, allowing you to quickly get across the operating system in seconds.

They will also be enhanced withCocreator, which allows you to instantly create AI-powered images in Microsoft Paint. The new Copilot + PC devices will featureLive Captions, allowing users to virtually watch videos in foreign languages without any worry, as the capability will automatically translate everything.

Users will also have access to the brand-new Windows Recall, which works similarly to how the anticipated AI Explorer would work: with it, you’ll be able to access every part of your PC, and everything that you have done or seen on it. Windows Recall is also a local AI tool, and the snapshots it takes will be stored locally, allowing you to delete them at any time.

You can scroll across time to find the content you need in your timeline across any application, website, document, or more. Interact intuitively using snapshots with screenray to help you take the next step using suggested actions based on object recognition. And get back to where you were, whether to a specific email in Outlook or the right chat in Teams.

Microsoft says the new Copilot + PC’s batteries will last all day, allowing users to get work done more efficiently. In a phone call between users and Copilot, the AI model is able to see anything and make use of every piece of information to provide you with the best solutions.

They are up to 20x more powerful and up to 100x as efficient for running AI workloads and deliver industry-leading AI acceleration. They outperform Apple’s MacBook Air 15” by up to 58% in sustained multithreaded performance, all while delivering all-day battery life. Copilot+ PCs can deliver up to 22 hours of local video playback or 15 hours of web browsing on a single charge. That is up to 20% more battery in local video playback than the MacBook Air 15”.

The new Copilot + PC devices also have natural integration with a variety of productivity tools, such as the entire Adobe flagship (Photoshop, Lightroom, and Express, will be available initially, with Illustrator, and Premiere Pro coming later this summer), but also DaVinci Resolve Studio, CapCut, Cephable, LiquidText, and djPro.

The new Windows Studio Effects will also be available on Copilot + PC devices, allowing users to quickly change the setup of their Windows experience.

Of course, all the Copilot + PC devices will sport the new Snapdragon Elite X processors from Qualcomm, with AMD and Intel releasing chips for these devices later this year.
