A few years ago, we reported thatLinux is more popular on Azure than Windows Server, with over 50% ofVM Coresrunning the former. The number has gone over 60% since then, given the fact that Linux systems are more cost-effective, customizable, and straightforward to manage on Microsoft Azure.
Now, Microsoft shared an official blog post detailing the benefits of using Linux on Azure, a cloud computing platform often used for the development and deployment of applications. It reads,
Microsoft emphasizes security, performance, cost-savings, and innovation as the key benefits of Linux on Azure, in addition to the wide array of open-source services.
For all-around security, you haveMicrosoft Defender for Cloud, which is now powered by AI(Artificial Intelligence). Microsoft has emerged as a key player in the landscape,integrating AI with its native tools and services.
