Microsoft just updated the stable version of Edge with a patch that solves an annoying bug that would allow its built-in PDF reader powered by Adobe Acrobat to cause fillable forms to not resize correctly when entering large text strings.
The update, which is now available to download, reads:
Resolved an issue when using the Microsoft Edge built-in PDF reader powered by Adobe Acrobat caused fillable PDF form fields to not auto resize correctly when entering large text strings.
The Redmond-based tech giant titled it Version 123.0.2420.81,according to the official changelog, and the stable channel is still far behind its Dev counterpart, as that channel was already updated to the 125.0.2492.1 version, which introducedSite Pinning campaigns.
The updates currently present in the Dev Channel will be released to the Stable Channel in a matter of weeks, or a couple of months, most likely, as these new features are tested. As always, some of them may not be released to the stable channel, while others will make it.
It’s worth mentioning that with this update, Microsoft is making the Edge’s PDF reader even better than before. Edge’s PDF reader is currently one of the best PDF readers out there, and its useful features, such as the live translation capability, make it a valuable tool for students, researchers, and those who deal with a lot of information.
With the Redmond-based tech giant finally fixing this annoying bug in Microsoft Edge’s PDF reader, users can make use of the tool at its full performance. Before, if you typed a lot of text into a fillable form, the text size didn’t adjust properly. Now it does.
To make sure you can use it, download the latest Microsoft Edge updates if the browser didn’t download them already. Restart the browser, and open your PDF reader. Now it should correctly auto-resize form fields.
