In this “internet-is-air” world, Microsoft Edge is taking a step forward with its newest update—version Dev 128.0.2677.1, now on the Dev Channel. This update is not only an update; it also has big enhancements for the Workspaces feature that will make navigation easier and more understandable for users.
The update is full of fixes designed to increase stability and user experience. They range from dealing with crashing problems on different platforms to small annoyances interrupting browsing flow. Microsoft Edge’s Dev 128.0.2677.1 now has a new ‘Take a Tour’ button on the welcome page of Workspaces. This alteration could be quite helpful for people who appreciate guidance when trying out fresh characteristics. It feels similar to having someone with you, helping you understand and showing you how to utilize this improved functionality. Remember those times when you got lost while trying out a new feature? This addition is here to ensure you do not wander around aimlessly.
Crashes and bugs are the worst part of any software experience, but Microsoft has been busy dealing with these problems. They have solved issues that made the browser crash when reopening a workspace, having the IE Mode tab in the background, or clicking ‘x’ on the banner shown after downloading a file from an iOS device.
For those using Android phones, they have also fixed a crash problem caused by downloading an unknown file. For those who have felt the irritation of selecting the ‘Organize tabs’ button and then witnessing a browser crash, take a deep breath – that problem has been sorted.
But, the small but impactful parts? Now, clicking on the right side of items in recently closed group history will display the ‘Open in new tab’ and ‘Copy link’ choices in the context menu. What is the problem with the search bar vanishing? Gone. The invisible and unclickable ‘Sort’ option icon in the collection pane? Fixed. Also, when you watch a full-screen video, the app pane unexpectedly appears and has been fixed.
Instances such as the refresh buttons not responding under the extension on Android or fullscreen web pages like YouTube videos not hiding the sidebar on Mac have been addressed.
Similar to the earlier version of Edge 128, which broughta new Copilot button, this update will likely arrive in the Stable Channel by late August and is now ready for download from the official Edge Insider website.
