In the beta channel, Microsoft Edge has just issued a new version. This version is recognized as 127.0.2651.8 and has various fresh features and policies.

In this latest version, the browser has been updated with many bug fixes and performance enhancements. It has also added several new features and policy updates. Microsoft Edge Beta is now at version 127.0.2651.8, too.

One significant point is that Microsoft Edge will no longer support CPUs without SSE3. If your device uses an older CPU, it’s time to say goodbye to future updates.

Another significant alteration in this release is the deprecation of Token Binding in Microsoft Edge version 130. Microsoft expresses that Token Binding in Edge 130 is marked to become outdated, with the AllowTokenBindingForUrls policy first becoming outdated and then made obsolete in a coming Edge version.

Token Binding. Token Binding uses cryptographic certificates on both ends of the TLS connection in an attempt to close the security gap of bearer tokens, which might be lost or stolen. We’re planning to deprecate Token Binding in Microsoft Edge version 130. TheAllowTokenBindingForUrlspolicy is deprecated and will be obsoleted in Microsoft Edge version 130.

The Hub has a Gift Card Redemption History feature, which could be interesting for people who like to keep a record of their digital buys. It’s helpful, right? Just imagine having all your gift card redemptions tracked in one spot.

And to the administrators, Microsoft has thought about you, too. The release notes include some policy updates, such as deprecating SignInCtaOnNtpEnabled and making ImmersiveReaderPictureDictionaryEnabled obsolete. It feels like Microsoft is always evolving, keeping Edge safe and easy for users.

But there is more. Think about the AI theme generator and the better user experience for Purview copy/paste controls. These are just a few instances where Microsoft uses technology to improve our browsing experience. Do not overlook the fresh Workspaces color display; it fills our browser windows with lively colors.

According to the official changelog, in Microsoft Edge’s Wallet hub, people who have a Microsoft account or a Microsoft 365 for Enterprise account can now check details about gift card redemptions. This includes the time when they redeemed their gift card and whether it has been used yet.

Admins can manage the EdgeWalletCheckoutEnabled policy to control feature availability. Microsoft has stated that the feature is now available to everyone as part of a controlled feature rollout.

Gift Card Redemption History in the Hub.Users with an MSA or Microsoft Entra ID Linked Account can view and utilize information from gift card redemptions through Pay with Rewards or the Rewards Dashboard. Once a user successfully redeems a gift card with Pay with Rewards, information relating to their gift card (date, card number/pin, redemption status) redemption is added to a Redemption History. This information is located in the Wallet hub. Admins can control availability of this feature using theEdgeWalletCheckoutEnabledpolicy.Note:This feature is a controlled feature rollout. Microsoft Edgehas been on the rise recently, and with these upcoming capabilities coming with 127.0.2651.8, the browser might rise even more in popularity.
