In the current era of rapid digital transformation, Microsoft has made a big move by joining forces with Lumen Technologies. This cooperation aims to boost Microsoft’s network foundation to manage growing AI and cloud computing requirements, as the Redmond-based tech giant has been having issueswith managing AI data centersfor a while now.
As artificial intelligence is changing our everyday lives and how businesses run, having strong network capacity and abilities becomes more crucial.
Microsoft’s selection of Lumen to strengthen its network infrastructure is a smart decision because it helps them handle the increasing necessity of data centers, primarily caused by progress in AI technology.
Lumen Technologies started in 1930 and has gone through many changes. Now, this company is ready to give Microsoft a network solution made just for them. They want to offer dedicated access to existing fiber in their network and install new fibers along old and fresh paths.
This infrastructure ready for AI should improve connectivity between Microsoft’s data centers by providing the necessary network capacity, performance stability, and speed. This is crucial as data demands soar.
However, the collaboration is not only for upgrading network infrastructure. Lumen will also adopt Microsoft’s cloud and AI technology to simplify operations, decrease technology expenses, and enhance offerings for its worldwide customer group.
By transferring and updating its workloads to Microsoft Azure and employing Microsoft Entra solutions in security aspects, Lumen expects a notable improvement in its cash flow and customer experience.
