Lakshman Somasundaram, Director of Product Management at LinkedIn, announced the launch ofadaily lineup of thinking-oriented gamesbrought to you by LinkedIn News.
LinkedIn games aim to provide a quick mental break between meetings or a fun way to unwind after a long working day. These games are developed to exercise your brain while cultivating connections between friends, colleagues, and business partners.
With these games introduced, LinkedIn has tried to integrate games, knowledge, and news together seamlessly on the platform. From logic puzzles to word associations, everyone will find something they like.
What are the games offered on LinkedIn?
Pinpoint
It is a word association game with a twist. All you have to do is guess the common category of five hidden words, with only one word revealed at a time. The target is to guess the category in as few reveals as possible.
Queens
It is a logic game in which you have to fill the grid with queens so that each column, row, and region can only have one queen. No queens should touch each other or even be diagonally placed with each other. There is only one answer, and the clock is ticking. The goal is to place queens in the right places on the grid in less time.
Crossclimb
It is a trivia game that combines a crossword and a word ladder. In this game, you use a combination of your trivia and work knowledge to fill out the words on the ladder. The aim is to fill in the words in the crossword puzzle in a way so that when you rearrange them each word in the ladder differs by only one letter. This will unlock the two final clues to win the game.
These games are designed by Paolo Pasco and Thomas Snyder, the top puzzle makers, to fit into your work schedules seamlessly. They offer a brief mental experience during commutes, between meetings, or at the end of long work days.
And there is more: LinkedIn’s move can relax your mind and also help you build deeper connections among professionals, as you can see scores and streaks and share them with your connections.
Once you have played the games on LinkedIn, you can see which of your connections have participated, which could spark opportunities to reconnect with old acquaintances.
In addition, LinkedIn’s News team will post daily updates about each game, thereby providing a platform for players to engage with the wider puzzling community, share tips and tricks, interact with creators, and make new connections.
The gameslnkd.in/pinpoint,lnkd.in/queens, andlnkd.in/crossclimbare available in the LinkedIn News section on the desktop and in theMy Networktab on both desktop and mobile devices.
