Microsoft released the latest update to the Insider Beta Channel, but KB5040555 is a small patch with a few improvements here and there. It brings bug fixes, general improvements, and a few known issues to explore.

Firstly, the Redmond-based tech giant has resolved a problem that is causing intermittent explorer.exe crashes for certain people.

Regarding issues, KB5040555 does fix a few of the taskbar topics; there is a fresh one where if you close apps, explorer.exe could crash for some insiders.

People who use updated Recent, Favorites and Shared sections in File Explorer should also prepare for a probable loss of keyboard focus.

Lastly, there is a problem where the emoji panel closes independently. This can be unpleasant if you attempt to add some style to your digital talks with others.

This release might not be the best hype for Windows Insider Program members, but it nudges that even subtle changes can alter the overall user experience.
