Microsoft released a new build for Windows 10 Insiders, KB5040525. While the patch doesn’t bring many new features, it is a big patch that fixes dozens of errors on the almost 10-year-old operating system. For example, there is a solution that moves the search box to secondary monitors, which is quite useful.
We are beginning to roll out a fix where you will see search box on your secondary monitors when the setting for search on the taskbar is set to “Search box”.
The KB5040525 update addresses specific problems that could have been bothering you. Did you ever face difficulty with the Group Policy editor or realize that your Universal Print clients were not behaving as expected? This upgrade intends to fix those little insects, improve Windows Backup, and increase the Windows Kernel Vulnerable Driver Blocklist to maintain your system’s security.
However, there is a small problem with DHCP Option 235. Some devices might have difficulty utilizing Microsoft Connected Cache (MCC) nodes within their network, which might result in more download traffic coming from the public internet. Microsoft recognizes this problem and is working on fixing it.
KB5040525 is now available to download and install, and you should do so if you’re enlisted in the Windows 10 Insider Program. Let us know what you think about it.
