Dark Modeis a standard feature across apps and websites these days. Over the last five years, nearly all have integrated it, owing to increased user requests. Now, it seems Google, too, has finally caved in because the Drive’s web version finally has aDark Mode.
And it’s not like Google didn’t receive many requests for it. The California-based tech giant admits thatDark Modewas a highly requested feature in theofficial announcement blog. It reads,
After integration, when I opened Google Drive, it came up with a popup notifying me about the change as well as the option to choose betweenLight,Device, andDarkmodes.
It only pops up the first time. On subsequent visits, the mode set initially will be applied. But you can always manually enable/disableDark Modefrom Drive’s web settings!
How do I enable Dark Mode on Google Drive web?
If you don’t see theDark Modeoption yet, remember that it’s a gradual release and may take up to 15 days to show up for everyone, according to Google.
As for the availability, you will getDark Modeonly on the following accounts:
Dark Modehas become an essential feature, given the battery savings and reduced stress on the eyes. And with it coming to Google Drive, you don’t need third-party extensions to switch toDark Mode.
Google is also working on anultimateDark Modefor Chromethat automatically applies across websites, irrespective of whether the website supports the mode.
