If you are a Google Chrome user, it’s time to update the browser as the latest version patches a newly spotted vulnerability,CVE-2024-4671.

The vulnerability, traced to the browser’sVisual Components, was reported to Google onMay 7, 2024, and found to be critical. Google marked it as aHighseverity vulnerability, according to theofficial blog post. So, you should take immediate action!

Google Chrome’s stable channel version that includes a patch forCVE-2024-4671is124.0.6367.201/.202for Windows and MacOS and124.0.6367.201for Linux. The update is being gradually rolled out and should be available to all in the coming weeks.

To update Google Chrome, launch the browser > click on the ellipsis near the top right > selectHelp> then chooseAbout Google Chrome> let the browser install the latest available version > relaunch Chrome.

Google has yet to share more information about theCVE-2024-4671vulnerability on Chrome or how it affects the browser and users. However, it should be available once the majority of the users update to the latest browser version.
