Fallout has been in the spotlight recently with the release of the Fallout TV show on Amazon Prime. In addition to the show, Bethesda is also working on a next-gen version of Fallout 4.

The wait is finally over, and the next-gen version is here, but it suffers from widescreen issues on PC.

Fallout 4 next-gen update comes with UI scaling issues on Windows, but that can be fixed

It has been known for a while that Bethesda is working on anext-gen version of Fallout 4, and the game is finally here.

However, this version has a few nasty bugs especially when using ultrawide mode on PC asWindows Central writes.

This version brings new textures, and some new content as well as support for 21:9 and 32:9 ultrawide display resolutions.

However, you can’t even choose a 21:9 resolution if your display scaling is not set to 100%. In addition, this feature also stretches the game’s HUD and user interface instead of scaling it properly.

It seems that Bethesda was lazy with the implementation of this feature, as the ultrawide mode uses a configuration file edit that players have used to force the game into ultrawide mode for a while.

Luckily, this issue can be fixed in the Steam version of the game with theTRUBY9 ULTRAWIDEmod on 21:9 displays. The mod converts all UI elements and scales them properly, and even though the mod is discontinued, it still works perfectly.

Before you can use this mod, you need to make a couple of changes:

After that, you just need to install the mod. You can do that manually or with a mod manager such as Vortex or Mod Organizer 2.

Once the mod is installed, the UI issues should be fixed and the widescreen mode should work properly. The launch of the game was followed by issues on other platforms as well, asXbox players can’t access the Quality Mode in Fallout 4.
