Deathloop will look a bit different when it hits Xbox Game Pass next week

Microsofthas confirmed that Deathloop will be coming to Xbox on September 20.
The FPS will be moving toXbox Series X|S as well asXbox Game Pass, and is up for pre-order and pre-installation now. Developer Arkane will also release a new update across all platforms, introducing some big new changes to the game.
Expect to see a new weapon, character ability, enemy types, and an extended ending. Just what that altered ending will look like is still a mystery, but Deathloop fans will likely be keen to see just how Arkane has spruced up the shooter.
Unlike thePS5release, the Xbox version of Deathloop will support crossplay, letting you invade (and be invaded by) PC players. Watch the Xbox launch trailer below.

Temporally challenged PS5 shooter Deathloop looks set to hit Xbox consoles soon, marking an end to its PlayStation console exclusivity.

A year afterDeathlooplaunched as a PS5 timed exclusive, an advert for the game has appeared on the Xbox Series X|S home screen. In the ‘Store’ section of the dashboard, a tile shows a promotional image of the game, overlaid with the text “pre-order now”.
The ad is currently non-functional. When I clicked it, the Microsoft Store app briefly appeared only to hang on a buffer screen. In all likelihood, it was probably released too early but suggests Deathloop will be coming to Xbox in the near future.
Perfect timing
Deathloop was expected to jump onto Xbox consoles by the end of the year. Agameplay trailerreleased before its launch suggested the game would not be available on other consoles until at least a year after its release – making September 2022 the likeliest period for an Xbox port to appear.
Its move to Xbox Series X|S is also something of an inevitability. Although Deathloop was released as a PS5 exclusive, it was published by Bethesda and developed by Arkane – two Microsoft-owned studios.Sonyarranged the game’s PS5 exclusivity before Microsoft had completedits purchase of Bethesda, leaving the Xbox owner to publish a game on its biggest rival’s console.
Deathloop will likely launch onXbox Game Pass, too. Microsoft has been keen to put first-party titles and Bethesda-published games on the subscription service to shore up its value. WithDishonored 2andDoom Eternalalready on the platform – andStarfieldon the way – we suspect Deathloop will soon join them.
The game won’t leave the PS5 behind, though, withSony only recently adding itto the Extra and Premium tiers ofPS Plus.
